Official Trailer for Toy Story 5: The Return of Woody and Buzz

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, The Walt Disney Company released the first official trailer for Toy Story 5 this Thursday, exactly four months ahead of its theatrical release.

Jeff Bergman and Anna Vocino voice Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head in the sequel, replacing Don Rickles and Estelle Harris, both of whom have passed away.

Andrew Stanton has been selected to direct Toy Story 5. The film tells another story about the toys confronting electronic devices that may have become more appealing to children. Tim Allen returns as Buzz Lightyear, Tom Hanks as Woody, Greta Lee as Lily Pad, American comedian Conan O’Brien, Tony Hale as Forky, and John Cusack as Jessie.

Allen previously told WIVB-TV that the sequel focuses largely on Jessie: “I can tell you that it’s a lot more about Jessie. Tom and I — me and Woody — cross paths again. And Buzz Lightyear has an unbelievable opening scene. I can’t say much more than that.”

Pete Docter, Pixar’s chief creative officer, said at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival that in Toy Story 5 the characters face the challenges of the digital age: “The toys meet technology.” He added that Bonnie Anderson now has a new toy and entertains herself with a tablet device, which leads to the tablet—called Lily Pad—becoming the story’s villain.

Toy Story 4 was released in 2019 and grossed over $1 billion worldwide. The film broke animation records with a $244 million opening.

Disney will release Toy Story 5 on June 19, 2026.
